Welcome to Iwokeupearly.com. For those of you that are familiar with this website, you know the story. For you newcomers, I was commissioned by Cinequanon (the film company producing I Woke Up Early The Day I Died) to do last minute production of this site (with promise of payment). After 4 weeks and 110 hours of logged work, I finally got a check, which subsequently bounced and everything regarding this website (and the film) went into a downward spiral (click here for more info). To sum it up, I got burned bad and ended up losing money from all the costs involved with the site, shipping of materials back and forth via Fedex, and long distance phone calls... Long story short, I have been sitting on the site all this time. Many of you have emailed me, I appreciate your support. I have had many questions and many people making offers on the site. Unfortunately, nothing substantial enough for me to act on. Now, I have come up with an idea. I have had a lot of people offering $10-300 to open up the site. Even the best offer is a far cry from the $2,500 I am/was owed. I had thought about piecing all these offers together for me to release the site, but I did not pursue it. After much time and much thought, I am going to start a "fund raiser" to open the site up. If you would like to send in any amount over $5 (minimum) use the link below to conveniently charge it to your credit card. Using your credit card would really be the most efficient method, but if you need to send in money order or check, feel free to email for an address. Ok, so you ask, "what do I get for my donation?" Besides opening the site to everyone else to visit and enjoy forever... On a first come, first serve basis, you will be listed as a contributor of the site. As disclosed by you: your contribution amount, your name, your email, optional URL (to any site you want to advertise - fan site perhaps), and optional quote will be listed at the bottom of this page and later moved to a special page once the goal is met and the site is opened. This is a pretty sweet deal for those of you wanting to advertise your site or give a shout out to someone (or both!). This site (while closed!) got over 20,000 international hits last year. Not enough? Well, ONLY those that are listed as contributors will gain access to a members only area of the site. There you will find a bi-weekly poll of what actor you would like to see a clip of. There are approximately 20 recognizable actors in this film (Billy Zane, Christina Ricci, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, John Ritter, Andrew McCarthy, Eartha Kitt, Sandra Bernhard, Tippi Hedren, Ron Perlman, Will Patton, Abraham Benrubi, Carel Struycken, Maila Nurmi, Max Perlich, Steven Weber, Taylor Negron, Tara Reid, Gregory Sporleder, Ann Magnuson to name a few). Most of them only appear in the movie briefly (besides Zane of course). I will provide a multimedia clip for you to view your favorite actor's part in the film. The one with the most votes each polling will be removed from the list and their clip will be linked for download. We will go through all the actors (so the polling is just what order the clips are made available). Also, I have some promotional items I was given. Most of them were returned / lost / misplaced in the last 15 months, I will have to see what remains and I will post it here. For instance, I have a cd with a couple of tracks from the soundtrack. For every multiple of $5, you will get a lot in a raffle for such items and I will randomly pick a lot and announce the winner after the site is opened. The $5 multiples will insure that someone contributing $100 will get compensation in relation to someone contributing $5 (IE more chances to win).
